cabane is the new project from former Soy Un Caballo creator Thomas Jean Henri.

This first release, a double a-side 7inch called “sangokaku / la gomera”, features vocal performances by Bonnie Prince Billy, Kate Stables (This Is The Kit) and Caroline Gabard (Boy & The Echo Choir) as well as string arrangement by Sean O’Hagan of The High Llamas and mix by Ash Workman (Metronomy, François and the Atlas mountains). recorded between Brussels, London, Paris, Saint Nazaire and Louisville (Kentucky).
Thomas has collaborated with Bonnie Prince Billy and Sean O’Hagan before, as part of his former band Soy Un Caballo, on their album “Les Heures De Raison”.

“…smooth harmonies and a smoother pop sensibility…as sophisticated as a Parisian boulevard as diffident as exhaled Gauloise smoke, as cool as Jean-Paul Satre and as romantic as the Left Bank.” – Nick Southgate, The Wire

“Call it global village music… it’s downright charming to hear Oldham’s woodsy Kentuckian palette wrap itself around a French lyric.” – Pitchforkmedia.com

Soy Un Caballo followed the release of their album with two 7 inch releases on NeedNoWater. Collaborating with This Is The Kit for “A Travers La Neige” and with Tunng for “Robin”, “ a thing of mesmerising, pant-moistening beauty, adding a continental touch to the unashamedly British feel of most of Tunng’s output, but retaining a gentle, pastoral feel..” – Q magazine

cabane’s double A-side sangokaku / la gomera is the first release in a series that will follow in a similar collaborative vein throughout 2015
