Clas Tuuth

Clas Tuuth

Electronic music taking inspiration from UK-Garage, breaks and lo-fi and mixing it all up with acoustic instruments.

London-based Clas Tuuth combines improvised acoustic recordings with influences of uk-garage, lo-fi and rave.

Acoustic guitar, Ukulele, karimba and the like are woven into a patchwork of subtle electronic rhythms, infusing warmer, softer elements with the use of live instruments.

His first official release was a remix of See My Boat by indie-folk artist Rozi Plain, which enjoyed radio play on 6music and Xfm. 2016 saw the release of his debut album, “We Should Get Back”, which was which was picked by Eddie Temple-Morris as one of his albums of the year.

Following a brief break, owing to the onset of tinnitus, Clas developed a production process that is more friendly to hearing than tweaking frequencies on synthesisers, but also maintains the same variety of influences.

A new series of EPs by Clas Tuuth is currently in progress, following his tinnitus-related hiatus. The first of which is "Say You Did", which was released on March 30th 2022 and Steve Lamacq called “one of my favourite electronic records of the year”, and the second is "Silver Bullet", released on October 19th 2022, both of which feature Kate Stables of This Is The Kit.

The latest release is Waxwing EP which contains two songs featuring Rachael Dadd and a remix by Drumskull. The Waxwing EP is out on September 20th 2023 and is available from bandcamp here.

We’ve previously released a series of 3 EPs by Clas Tuuth (named 001, 002 & 003) as well as a remix EP and the debut album “We Should Get Back”, which was followed by another one-off EP called "There's Always Something".

All are available from clastuuth.bandcamp.com
